My Sense Of You
I was never in tune with my senses,
but when I think of you,
there are the images,
the smells,
the emotions,
the sounds,
the textures
that represent you in my mind.
You remind me of sunsets,
of light-hearted grins
and the shining stars
that I see when you're around.
You remind me of pine cones,
of cookies
and autumn,
my favorite season for my favorite person.
You remind me of love,
of happiness
and the trust that I feel for you
and you alone.
You remind me of laughter,
of piano music
and your beautiful voice
that I hear in my dreams each night.
You remind me of the curls in your hair,
of soft lips
and the smooth skin of your hand
that I always long to feel.
All of my senses are so in tune with you
and they go on alert when you're around.
I need to see your smile,
smell your scent,
revel in your love,
hear your voice,
feel your lips,
and most of all
know you're there.
