Maybe

Maybe I smile too much,
Maybe I sing too loud,
Maybe I long for your touch,
Maybe I’m a bit too proud,
Maybe.
Maybe I’m just too small,
Maybe I’ve loved too many,
Maybe I’m not good at all,
Maybe I’m a little too merry,
Maybe.
Maybe I’m a girl who cares for you,
Maybe I’m too good at lying,
Maybe I’m a girl with nothing better to do,
Maybe I’m too damn annoying,
Maybe.
Maybe I just found the one,
Maybe I’m too hopeful,
Maybe I’m meant for no one,
Maybe I’m too tearful,
Maybe.
Maybe I just saw you look this way,
Maybe I’m too imaginative,
Maybe I just looked away,
Maybe I’m far too furtive,
Maybe.
Maybe I saw you reach for my hand,
Maybe I reached for yours,
Maybe I’m dreaming in a distant land,
Maybe my heart’s too loud when my pulse soars,
Maybe.
Maybe I’m too awkward,
Maybe you’re too perfect,
Maybe I’m too absurd,
Maybe you’re one to respect,
Maybe.
Or maybe we’re exactly right,
Or maybe we’re supposed to be together,
Or maybe we’ll never fight,
Or maybe we’re two birds of a feather.
Maybe.

This poem was written on a whim and expresses feelings I've harbored.

I like this. Good use of repetition. I like how you leave so many things vacant, it's almost hopeful

Awesome! What I love about poetry is how it has the potential to reach out and tell someone that they're going through the same issues and having the same feelings. excuse the cliche, but you hit the nail on the head :)
