The sky was grey but surprisingly light.
It wasn’t yet night so I still had a lovely sight.
There was a chill in the air,
and I saw people stare,
as the first snowflake fell from the sky.

The ground turned to snow then I felt the wind blow,
It pushed me aside and down I started to go.
I didn’t want to land,
for then I’d be bland,
covered by a blanket of snow.

My destination came closer, and I thought it grosser,
as I headed for the little girl’s tongue.
I wanted to live,
to be the last one to fall,
the last snowflake of them all.

So up I began to climb and I know it’s such a bad crime,
to cheat my demise and change my fate,
but I was not born to be that girl’s bait.
I have so much more beauty to create.
I’ll be the last one to fall,
the last snowflake of them all.

I work my way to the top and only then will I stop,
when I’ve done my best to get above the rest.
I’ll get to the cloud and they’ll be so proud,
that I pushed through the crowd.
I’ll tell them “I’ll be the last one to fall,
the last snowflake of them all.”

They will ask “why must you be the last one to fall?”
Then I will say “You made me unique,
so I thought to seek for a fate that is less meek.
I will be the last one to fall,
the last snowflake of them all!”

They smiled approvingly and let me stay,
To sit on the cloud that is color of grey.
I waited and waited till’ my time had come
to fall to the ground and leave where I’m from.

I saw the perfect target on a snowman’s hat,
I would land just there, I would do just that.
I was finally the last one to fall,
the last snowflake of them all.
