Teenage Romance

December 29, 2008
By Liz Harwood, Middletown, CT

I ask you for your love
In a reckless, teenage sense
I ask you to listen to me
And to let me hear you speak
I ask you to hold me close
As you claim to never let me go
I ask you to sing to me
So we can share a cheesy duet
I ask for moonlit nights
And long walks on the beach
I ask you for your hand, not in marriage
But in a simple teenage romance
I ask you to love me
Not forever, just today.
