Waves lapping
At bare, sandy feet.
Hair blowing
Untamed
In the wind.
White skirt billows
Above the waves,
Matching seashells
On the shore.
Stars twinkle
Overhead,
And all is peaceful
In the night.
Cool air tingles
Uncovered skin,
Sending shivers
Down the spine.
What is more glorious
Than this,
A midnight walk
Upon the ocean shore.

I was inspired to write this poem after visiting the island of St. Thomas on vacation last year. I took a walk similar to the one mentioned in poem on the beach in front of my hotel, and it was so magical and inspiring that I wrote this poem.
