A Summer's Evening

I lie here beside you on a summer’s evening,
The air is heavy, but is cool with night,
The bright moon above is not yet waning,
Oh, the view is such a beautiful sight,
As we lie here by the silvery blue stream,
There is nothing better then time with you,
And every moment seems like a pleasant dream,
Oh, how I love everything that you do,
So glad was I when you offered your name,
And simply because I will love you forever,
As we play in this painful but happy game,
Never shall I leave your side, never,
I lie here beside you on a summer’s evening,
The bright moon above is not yet waning.

The author's comments:
This sonnet was inspired by Shakespeare's A Midsummer's Day and is one of my favorite poems because it really captures the feeling I have towards neverending love.
