Standing Tall

January 1, 2009
By Anonymous

I'm still standing up
Because I believe in peace.
I'm standing up
Because I hate the war.
I'm still standing tall,
A sign in my hand,
Declaring I believe in
Who and what I am.
I'm still standing high,
My hopes very wide.
Though they try and tear me down,
My message is still heard
That the war needs stopping;
But still meeting no end.
Still I stand tall,
As I walk through the crowd,
Knowing the peace
I carried out
Has delivered the message,
Up and about.
My goal is accomplished,
No matter the crime,
Because I'm still standing up
Holding a sign.

Wonderful, inspiring poem! I agree with you completely. I would just find a synonym for still you could use, you use the word a bit much.

I love the part when you talk about accomplishing your goal, and walking through the town knowing you did something right to make are world a better place.showing that you offered peace and standing up for what you believed in. Once i finished reading it i new it was you that wrote it. You are a great writter.

Way to go, I like it! I'd know right away that you wrote this, it's that good.

"Declaring I believe in

Who and what I am."

That is by far my favourite part of the poem!

Everyone who believes in standing tall should rate this!
