Music To My Ears
When I listen to music I float away
Anywhere far from the place I stay
I lay in my bed with the volume on full blast
My mind explores with wondrous vast
I daydream and fantasize in my bed
The sound in my ear is sharp like lead
But I don’t care, I do it anyway
I’d go deaf is what my mom would say
I close my eyes and picture myself in the song
I visualize myself where I belong
Whenever mom appears, the volume tapers
But when she leaves, it rises like vapor
The worst part is to put it away
Just one more song I’d like to play
Some songs can put me to tears
But that sweet sound is music to my ears
