Because before you know it, you'll be holding your breath; looking around for answers. You'll be gasping for air, fighting back tears. Why? I don't know. A part of you is always with your past. It affects you. People say forgive and forget, but it's definitely a lot easier said than done. And it feels like when I finally begin to forget it all I get slammed right back to the ground. And everything comes back. My problems aren't as bad as many people's out there, I know. I'm not saying they are. I know it's not the end of the world but writing is my way out of my problems. I wish I could trust. Trust myself, life's obstacles, people. Everything and anything.

The author's comments:
I understand other people's problems are far more worse than mine. My life is pretty great, honestly. I went through a lot last year, and I wrote a lot during those times. Sometimes my past still effects the present, so I write about it. I hope you like my work. Thank you.

"Years later, I look back and thing what the hell I was doing."

It's okay, but it's not a poem.

I like this a lot. I didn't think it had the feel of a poem, though, more like the random thoughts of a poetic person. It was definitely deep. You speak from the heart and you can't go wrong with that, lol. Keep writing!:)
