I give up, twilight wins

Okay, so, i'm sitting here,
at four in the morning,
reading everything i can,
amazed at the world still.
i don't know how everyday,
things can still be a mystery,
or a surprise,
like the sunrise,
the sunset,
or the stars in the night sky.

but that isn't what this is about,
this is about the twilight books,
and conformity.

okay, so i have a problem sharing,
and i love knowing things that no one else does,
and introducing people to knew things.
so what?
i love this about me,
it makes me who i am.

so when i was reading twilight,
two years ago,
for the first time,
yes, i fell in love with it.
honestly,
i'm not sure if i've ever read a better book.
it was increasingly impressive with each book.

but now,
i can't stand to even think of them,
and i'm not saying everyone who is reading them now is doing it just because everyone else is,
but most people are.
and really, i just want to hit them.
i'm sick of it.
seriously, get yr own lives.

and i almost started hating the books,
and i wasn't going to see the movie,
which i've been looking forward to,
for months now.

but,
i realized,
i can't let people control me like that.
i'm done letting them have that power over me.
it isn't fair to me.
i'm giving up things i love,
things that i've needed for a long time,
just because it's popular?

that's just rude to that thing,
and to myself.
i'm hurting myself,
because i don't like others sharing in what i have.

so, i love twilight,
and i'm going to see the movie soon.

I'd hope that you choose to like things or not based on their quality, not their popularity or lack thereof. It's pretty immature to stop liking something just because other people start to share your interests.
