in the darkness around the sun
facing the night coming
the black tree stands
flinging the day to rest
evening a pale life, tenderly
whirling my arms till the fall
dancing the slim day to a halt
the earth bowing down to the stars
the blanket painted with silence
puts us to
sleep.

The author's comments:
this is a poem that our teacher had us write.
she gave us the Dream Variations poem by Langston Hughes and take the words and rearrange them to make our own poem. we were also allowed to put a few lines in ourself. and i did.

it was a very fun project. and, i am satisfied with my poem, :]
