THE DISEASE

A man.

A man with a disease

anchored on his back.

Such as an anchored boat.

A boat that is sitting still

going no where in a rocky ocean.

A boat that can’t go on

until the ocean calms.

A boat that must lift the anchor

to lead on the right direction.

And then

a boat that is finally sailing.

The disease is over.

Alcoholism is the disease that inspired me to write this poem, which I dedicate to my best friend and hero -- my dad.

Truly heartfelt and inspirational. I thought this poem was written from the soul of the author. It speaks to me of hope. No matter how bad something appears if you don't give up you can be set free! Beautiful...keep up the good work and never stop believing for the best!
