Reminiscing

Broken, shredded, forgotten lost toys
Gather dust lying on the floor
Forlorn dreams of a grown-up boy

No faeries, no pirates, no lingering joys
His baby toys left dumped, not remembered anymore
Broken, shredded, forgotten lost toys

Memories are left to enjoy
Of times with no mention of war
Forlorn dreams of a grown-up boy

Plastic chips we used to destroy
Lay broken from the game Connect-Four
Broken, shredded, forgotten lost toys

He used to wait for Santa and eat the Chips Ahoy
"Til midnight before his eyes would sore
Forlorn dreams of a grown-up boy

Mini trucks, vampire capes, galore
Markings on the wall of past game scores
Broken, shredded, forgotten lost toys
Forlorn dreams of a grown-up boy
