No Fairytale Endings

First I see their dresses,
Long, silky, swirling, shimmering
Under crystal chandeliers.
Their lustrous hair, so perfect.
The way the glide across the etched marble floor
A graceful dance.
I search their faces.
Their eyes catch the shining light,
Glittering like sparkling gems.
A cascade of
Chocolate diamonds,
Cerulean sapphires,
Pale emeralds.
Lips curved into identical smiles,
Painted
Rose pink,
Crimson,
Blood red.
I struggle to forget, but I see no beauty as I look closer.
See the smiles, how they don’t quite reach the eyes,
How they glance at another in distaste,
Expressing too much,
Those sly peeks.
How the clothes become a competition,
All trying to outshine the rest.
The murmuring of their skirts as they brush the floor lightly,
Like whispers.
Whispering secrets, all trailing across the ground,
Cold, bitter lies,
Veiled under
Fancy gowns.
Flawless complexions.
Fake smiles.

this poem is just amazinggg!

I really believe this should be in the magazine.

The breaks are perfect, each adjective is the right choice to compliment your nouns and everything flows magically.

the details are exquisite- i could compliment this for ages!

WOW. A truly fantastic piece.

Poem draws the reader in believing one thing first, then seeing the truth beneath. I like how it is done in first person. Wonderful use of literary devices and good word choice. Very real. Makes one think.

This is an amazing piece of work. Subtle in its allusions to teenage life - I loved it

I LOVE IT.

It Has So Much Depth.

It Says So Much With Only A Few Meaningful Words. It Reminded Me Of This Book, 'Rumors' By Anna Godberson

But Im Just A Lil Weird Like That So You Might Think It Has Nothing To Do With Anything. Okay So Anyway. I Really Loved This Peice. Keep It Up
