Runaway Train

Bridge the gap
between my head
and mouth.

Straighten the line that keeps the
right from being wrong.
rolling off her tongue
as what she meant.

Slipping out of this shadow.
Forgetting all that I've intended,
and everything I've seen.

A runaway mind always dreaming
never truly listening,
so confused,
wanting to go home
but don't know where home would really be.

She waits patiently inside her head.
Never ceasing to believe in something.

They say what they please,
her thoughts may slash,
but she holds her tongue.

Visions of the past
give her that attitude.

Visions of what she wants
helps her smile.

She wears so many colors,
sometimes forgetting who she
really is.

A runaway mind always dreaming
never truly listening,
so confused,
wanting to go home
but don't know where home would really be.

A road without street signs,
a feeling is all you have.
Turn by turn her hopes
rise and crash.

Visions of the past
give her that attitude.

Visions of what she wants
helps her smile.

A runaway mind always dreaming
never truly listening,
so confused,
wanting to go home
but don't know where home would really be.

Straighten the line that
keeps the right from being wrong...
