En Route
Undersides of bridges glow bright with headlights
Unnatural yellow and red as traffic ebbs and flows
Singing, talking, coughing, spitting- automobile etiquette; a new set of manners
Stop and go, bumper to bumper, everyone going here and there
I sit and watch through tinted glass, the people are closer than they appear
To all kinds of places with all different motives
In beaten down models and flashy convertibles
All of the exhaust pipes sputter while mufflers purr in content
Traveling in cities with lights everywhere
Living on highways buzzing with traffic
All cars shine at night
