Soaked in tears
My breath nearly spent
I weakly collapse
Onto the gravel road

The road filled with rocks
All jagged and raw
For this is the road of my life
Hard, brutal and fierce

But as I reach out into nothing
I grasp a strong hold
And slowly pull myself back up
Falling back into light

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem expressing anyone going through a difficult time in their life. I really wanted to say that hope is there, it's just not always easy to see.
