A Cool Breeze

The cool breeze whistles
Through the winter air
Kissing the skin with cold lips
Whispering sweet nothings in your ear

The cool breeze licks
The leaves of the tree
Forcing them from their perch
To tumble over gray slate

The cool breeze tickles
The cheeks of children
Playing in the snow
That crunches under their feet

The cool breeze siphons
The will to grow
From the grass on the horizon
Fighting valiantly against the wind

The cool breeze cries
In the bleak night
Searching for a home
In the black sky

The cool breeze blows
Over barren land
The lone spirit
Of a quiet essence
