The Prince

She lived in a castle
In a land far away
She dreamed of her Prince
Every day

She sat in her tower
And watched him go by
She'd never really talked to him
She'd dream of saying 'hi'

She didn't feel like a princess
Locked way up high
Forbidden to leave,
She started to cry.

"Please, dear Prince,
Save me right now!"
She'd hope and she'd hope
Though she didn't know how

One day she thought,
"I could write him a letter!
Drop it down to him,
Then life will be better!"

So she did just that,
And she dropped it down below
And sure enough,
He saw it and read real slow

"Dear Prince way down there,
Do you see me up here?
I'm alone and far away
I just want to be near

You are all I want
So save me please!
Under the mat near the door,
You'll find a bunch of keys

Please unlock this door,
And when I get down,
I promise to be yours
I'll give you my crown."

He thought to himself
"I'm not a prince, but hey,
Someone is trapped,
I must save her today!"

And when he had saved her
He was mesmerized
"Your so pretty..."
"and you're no prince!" she realized.

But as she had promised,
She gave him her heart,
Her crown, and the kingdom
They were never to part.

She realized she loved him,
That new king-to-be,
"he's everything I hoped for,
And he loves me for me!"

This was great. One thing I'll say is the flow wasn't exactly perfect, but the story is beautiful! Great poem, Christy. :)
