A pool of liquid gold
Reflections of waves and folds
Wonderful and bedazzling
This beauty that’s so staggering
It makes your eyes blind to what lays beneath.

Warm and inviting to anyone person
Dive right in,
It screams
You know you want to.

A splash and a wave overtake you
As you slide through the liquid
Gentle and smooth the gold caresses your skin
While you swim to the depths.

So soft it feels like nothing but air
Open your eyes
And they become clouded and coated
With rose tinted gold.

The air in your lungs grows sparse
So stretch upward to find the top
Have you gotten so deep
And gone so far down
That the beginning is nowhere to be found?

Panic takes flight
And your lips part
To form a desperate cry
That become nothing more
Than pockets of air.

Your eyes search
For a hand to grab
Except those wonderful eyes have been veiled
By the splendor of the gold.

The liquid brilliance slips down your throat
With ten times the grace
That it had on your body.

Gold fills the place of air in your lungs
But little do you know, you begin to grow heavy
And the struggle towards the top ceases to exist.

As you take on the weight of the gold surrounding you
The sly descent towards the bottom begins
And you notice that there has been transition from gold to lead.
Hard and cold.
Bringing you down.
Surrounding you.
Straining your senses
So that your limbs become entangled in themselves.

The black grows deeper
And your nowhere to be found
Lost to the liquid,
Whatever it may be.
