Alpha and Omega

From dirt we were brought up

To dirt we shall be brought down.

From year after year

From tear after tear

The past is in the past, in that to never reappear.

Live in the day that God let the sun shine

For today is yours as it is mine.

Let us feast side by side

until the day comes in which we say our goodbyes.

Dine, and dine until I dine no more

For my body has reached the end, that is this shore.

Here I lie in the sand of where I was made

Here comes the water, in which very soon I shall fade.

I am gone now in which to never return

Here I shall stay inbetween all the land of where I was born.

This really is very interesting, and very insightful. "From ashes you were made, and ashes you will return." A verse in the Bible reffered to on Ash Wednesday in the Holy Roman Catholic Church. This poem in very much like that in idea. Your poem holds real emotion. Nice job. I look forward to reading more of your work!
