Pull the Trigger

December 8, 2008
By Jordan Greer, Lake Station, IN

It’s hot out side in the desert heat
A helmet on your head, sweat on your brow
The enemy’s in sight now
Firearms in their hands pointing right at your heart
By the way your heart can easily be seen as its beating out of your chest
Clammy palms as you know what you have to do
The question runs quickly through your mind
Is this the right thing to do?
Kill the terrorist or have him kill you
No more time to think its time to react
One eye closed with steady hands
Freedom in your mind love for you country in your heart
Your hands clinch
You had to pull the trigger
