the fight every nght

Parents Divorced
Father turned away
Rumor of pressing charges
Why does it have to be this way

A mysterious conversation
I was silent can be
I just watched and listened
This was really intense for me

I don't like to talk about it
Not even to my friends
Not even to my relatives
... Well, it depends

Talking in a bookstore
On a bench, sitting down
I was facing my father
but really looking down

My dad talked
but my heart sank
It got deeper and harder
like a big, fat tank

Im afraid
afraid of my dad?
it's hard to say
Im so sad

On the darkest days
On the brightest nights
I will always remember
when my parents would fight

This didn't happen to me, it happened to a friend, so I wrote it for her
