A dream differed

Modeled after a poem by Langston Hueghes
Does it slide down the mountains?
Like a sled on a snowy hill?
Or lie there in the snow like a forgotten dollar bill?
And then blow away
Does it stay in the open on a rock like a snake bathing in the sun?
Or stay hidden?
Like a teenagers sock?
Maybe it just disappears?
Like snow on a warm day
Or does it reappear?
