What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it melt-
Like ice cream left out for hours?
Or pulled away by the tide like a helpless child-
And then drenched from waves the size of towers?
Does it run away like the poor island boy?
Or isolate itself from others-
Like a selfish child with its toy?
Maybe it just disappears
Like a never-known lie
Or does it die?
