Think Before You Greed!

December 10, 2008
By Anonymous

You think you have it so hard
When you can't get what you want
You think life's not worth living
When all your support is gone

There's so much more to this world
Another shadow behind another soul
Who strives to live a life they didn't choose
And with it, the worth of living only grows

In a world of deeper sorrow,
Everything everyone has is what you need
When the other soul on the other side
Struggle to find for their family something to eat

The tears they've cried, all day, all night
Trembling in the cold, burning in the heat
In the world they want to wake up and see
For just another day, even if they're weak

For you to cry and claim you'd rather die
For you to despise the life you're breathing
For you to whine and drop to the ground in defeat
It's an embarrassment, how you're even thinking

They have tasted a deeper flavor in life
Than you will ever have if all you want is more
With all the pain the other soul is left to untangle
Think before you take your greed too far

The author's comments:
There are so many teens these days, usually in the more fortunate settings, who always seem to have a silly excuse for wanting to end their life or thinking their life is a total tragedy. I just thought they should really open their eyes more and see there's so many other unfortunate people in the world. With famine and poverty happening all over the world, I just want people to start seeing that before they keep wanting more and more, think about what they have and be at least a little bit fortunate of where they are right now.

wonderful job, a bit of the wording could be changed here and there to make it flow a bit easier, but otherwise great and so relevent... theres so many people who need to wake up and start being thankful for what they have, instead of taking drastic measures to run away, put your energy into taking drastic measures to do good with your life

Nice message, i can't stand people like that. Flow was a little awkward, but still decent. Keep writing!
