the beach

The waves, the waves,
They look so free,
The clearest thing,
I’ll ever see,
When I’m at the beach,
I feel so free,
No reason to be,
Anyone but me,
They were screaming,
All they could say,
Was Josie, Josie!
Come in and play,
I looked at the waves,
I couldn’t wait,
To jump in and take a chance,
At risking all fate,
I ran into the water,
To play tag with the waves,
It’s the salty sea air,
I will always crave,
Then the day is over,
I climb back into the car,
The next best thing to get away from reality,
Is to wish upon a star
