Do you think that maybe we could just sit awhile?
Watch the laziness of the clouds roll by
and the gleefully happy sun tumble and laugh
dancing in the brightness against all the darkness and dirt that goes on for miles and miles...

Do you think perhaps we could just forget?
Leave our worries and the pain of all our yesterdays behind?
All the anguish that kept itself alive in our haunting regrets?

Could we travel past these roads
Beyond the boundaries of the ground
and the dust?
Everything we've ever known?

Come fly with me
Let's bury our shackles
and allow the chains to disintegrate.
Let's defy gravity and choose not to be afraid
Of the choices we make
Of the risks we take.

We can be free
If we leave
If we leave leave our inheritance of this dirt
If we run away from all our memories
Run away from all that's hurt.

But there is a bravery in staying
A courage our mother never had
And abandonment would only ruin
Would only sadden
Our faithful dad.

So if you'll stay, then I will too
and we can make wonders from these plots of land
The way we always used to.
We can build bridges and kingdoms and creatures
The imaginations that've waited so eagerly beneath us
In the soil, in the dust.
Our dreams kept always
Those that never gathered rust.

We can wait for our dreams.
Since our dreams have awaited us.
