Schizophrenia

The purple monkeys in my brain
make it hard for me to pay attention
when the monkeys jump, stomp, screech and drain

It makes me cry out in pain
landing me in detention.
From the purple monkeys in my brain

Comprehension is a strain.
My teachers are left with looks of apprehension
when the monkeys jump, stomp, screech and drain.

It’s hard to act sane,
when I’m constantly in mental suspension
with purple monkeys in my brain.

I need to contain,
but I never mention
when the monkeys jump, stomp, screech and drain.

They leave a mental stain.
Which takes me out of contention
for everlasting fame
The purple monkeys in my brain.
