Sunset’s Slumber

The soft rays of sun
Slowly drip down the dreary sky.
The warm colors of night
Steadily sneak up the icy mountains.
Sleepy sailing boats
Skim the surface of the calm waters
As their shadows disrupt the mirage of color reflecting off the mesmerizing sky.
The cotton-like clouds
Glow pink as soft as blushing cheeks.
The thick air is motionless
Anticipating the coming night.
The serene sunset’s sweet lullaby
Sets the earth into a deep profound
Sleep.
