I can

December 2, 2008
By Anonymous

A flower emerging from the smallest bud
An apple falling, landing with a thud.
Can you hear it?
I can.

The sun melting on a glistening sea
The gentle buzz of a bumble bee
Can you hear it?
I can.

The cry of a baby, newly born
The deadly beauty of a red rose thorn
Can you hear it?
I can.

The sun, the moon, the stars and all
An aged man now standing tall.
Can you hear it?
I can.

The tears spilled from friends lost
The bitter cold of winter frost.
Can you hear it?
I can.

But what, I’m sure you’ll fear,
Are you really meant to hear?
I can hear it
Why can’t you?

The truth is found inside my heart
All my memories, my love, my laugh.
Now can you hear it?
I can.
