I Once Had A Heart

I once had a heart,
but you broke it in two.
Nothig much wasted,
and nothing to you.

I once had a love,
so gentle and kind.
It will forever be here,
embedded in my mind.

I once had a smile,
so soft and bright.
Hoping one day,
you would see it's light.

I once had a heart,
but you broke it in two.
Whatever happens,
both pieces belong to you.

The author's comments:
What inspired me to write this piece is that there are so many broken hearts in the world, and those broken hearts need to know they are not alone.
