Life. What a simple word,
Does it just mean breathing?
Or even thoughts unheard?
Most of us spend our lives,
Struggling to get by.
Never stopping and realizing
How hard we never tried.
The time between the rise
And fall of the sun,
We say and do some things
We wish could be undone.
So why do we continue
On the path we know is wrong
Saying, thinking, and doing things
We know could hurt someone
Why don’t we stop our busy days?
To help someone in need?
We only think about ourselves
Our lives are filled with greed.
So when your breaths are almost out,
Will you be proud?
Or only filled with doubt?
Next time you are about to do
Something you know isn’t right,
Stop and take a second to think
“Is this how I want to live my only life?”
