Ginger
Her light brown paws upon my lap,
her eyes an emerald green.
Her rumbling purr and sleepy eyes,
a perfect setting for this scene.
She's known as sweet Ginger,
the ruler of our house.
Sometimes plain and quite bitter,
sweet when catching a mouse.
A blur is the only thing you can see,
as she streaks through our house,
leaving an aroma of tea.
She wasn't named for her colors,
though it matches her fur,
but for her adventurous personality,
oh, and that sweet Ginger purr.
