The Ocean

November 23, 2008
By Sade Brown, Marquette, MI

A virgin to the human eye.
A death trap, full of life.
It's own community

A city with no tourists
Although it spreads through the world
Deep,dark and blue.
all colors muted.

Holds remains of
ships never found.
Stories held captive
in the crashing waves.
But all we see is the surface,
left to think of the mystery
of what lies beneath.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece for a Poetry class. The assignment was a Poetry Anthology on any subject you choose, i chose water. This is one of the many forms you can find water so i wrote about it. It is also one of my six poems i wrote.
