That’s Just the Way I Roll

I don’t have time for the lies
I don’t have time for the games
So, do me a favor,
And keep that stuff away

I have limited patience
And I don’t have time to waste
If you're not going to be real
Then stay out of my face

I have an attitude
And I’m not ashamed of it
Either you can get with that
Or you can choose not to

I hide my feelings and emotions in a place real deep
Because if I let them out, it makes me feel vulnerable and weak
I don’t want a lot of people knowing how I feel
If you can’t handle this, then don’t even try

In reality, I keep my heart on my sleeve
Some times I let it show, but mostly it has a protective sheet
I’m not emotional, I just like the truth
If you can’t handle it, then you must go

The author's comments:
Love inspired me to write this poem. I met this really sweet guy and I wanted him to know who I was. So, I decided to write who I was in a poem. I would like the reader to know that being who you are makes you the greatest person that you can be and that you should be yourself regardless of what other people say or do.
