Life Goes On or so it Seems

By
Life goes on or so it seems
People die in their sleep, in the night
An empty seat with worn out seams

After father passed he stayed in their dreams
And mother missed him sleeping on her right
Life goes on or so it seems

They eat their dinner of meat and greens
His untouched silver wear flickers with light
An empty seat with worn out seams

His newborn son cries and screams
Mother held her tears back with all her might
Life goes on or so it seems

The family lost its ways and means
Having no hope in their sight
An empty seat with worn out seams

His favorite meal was steak and beans
Losing him put them in fright
Life goes on or so it seems
An empty seat with worn out seams
