The little things I did on purpose

The water droplets that took your place

So pained to see that I had lost
The person dearest to me at minimal cost
Hatred and jealousy invaded our veins
To find that my vigor had taken strain
No longer was I concerned
With the torment that you gave
I was presented a life and lifted from my cave
At this very moment, it came to me
That you had drawn far
Too far for me to breathe
Out of reach and helpless, my task was no longer there
I had no form of aiding you; I had no life to spare
For this I say I’m sorry
I retire from my post
