Why is there so much adversity
On this place called Earth?
With the way things are supposed to be
Rather than the harsh reality
Everyone is different
And no one is perfect
So why is there so much discrimination going on today?

If I don’t want to be a doctor
Then I do not belong
If I am not the perfect student
I will not be as successful
If I am not as rich as others
Then I won’t have as many privileges
Why is everyone the same
When all of the world is unique

If everyone is different
Why does everyone act the same,
Not everyone can be outside the box
But have to blend in with the crowd
If we can’t truly express who we are
How can we be true to ourselves
For everyone needs to be themselves
Not feel like they’re like everyone else

I am not that rich nor perfect
I am not that athletic nor popular
I am me, true to myself
I don’t hide from the truth
I don’t care what others think
I don’t change who I am;
All I am is me
