I yearn to love

To be in love, I do not know
the feel, yet I yearn to love
intensely as the blizzard snow,
intensely as a beaut white dove.

You cosset me, and I see you
a soul radiant and lovely,
but I ache to adore you as
intensely as your lust for me.

Alas, immerse me -- plunder my
mind, senses gone, my heart left to
be stolen by your thievery,
my belonging for yours to take.

I wrote this poem as an imitation of "I am not yours" by Sara Teasdale.
