My Window

November 13, 2008

My sister opened a window for me
When I first saw it,
Beyond the pane looked so beautiful
But the window was stuck in its frame
Not budging

My sister opened the window for me
I pressed my face against the screen
Which left scaly dust upon my cheek
But I could not see anything
There was only darkness shining bright
And so, it was darkness and was not darkness
All at once

The darkness melted into a sunset
The sunset faded into days
Weeks months years
But I stood only for a moment
and I began to cough
The air from that window was bitter tasting
But still I breathed it in

It has something to it like, if your saying something like life is beautiful, but a little hard to understand, and you have to get closer, yet you inhale something, and it hurts, if you mean like life is not all about beauty. you going to inhale something along the way, its a really good poem..
