The Change

We were going good
We were going great
Then you said we should
And I said we aint

You got mad
But said it was stress
You made me sad
And watched me become a mess

We started to fight
When we weren’t together
It gave me a fright
I thought it was going to last forever

You crossed a line
That you said you never would
That was definitely not fine
I had to do what I never thought I could

I confronted you about being a jerk
I told you all of my feelings
I said you better work
Hoping you wouldn’t shred my heart into peelings

You denied it all
You tried to be sweet
You made me feel small
And I knew I was beat

I said I needed a break
You said you were alright with it
But you were being fake
Mad, cuz I beat you to it

Four days later I decided to call
We tried to work things out
But we began to fall
You said there was something we needed to talk about

You dropped the bomb
Said we were over
I cried to my mom
I wanted to move to Dover

We both moved on
We don’t even talk
You turned into a con
All you do is mock

I am doing fine
I’m finally truly me
Now I love to dine
And am not afraid to climb that tree
