I Am Just A Child

November 9, 2008

Bullets flying,
cannons roaring.
I am just a child.

Agonized screams,
silenced hearts.
I am just a child.

Dying wishes,
wistful regrets.
I am just a child.

Eyes closing,
lifeless bodies.
I am just a child.

Fearful loved ones,
unanswered letters.
I am just a child.

The things I see around me
are the horrible results of war.
I never thought it'd be this bad,
never in a mallion years...
So I signed up early to defend my country,
even though I am just fifteen.
I cannot eat, I cannot sleep,
without seeing them in my mind.
The ones who've already fallen,
the ones we've left behind.
Scared am I to end up like them,
because after all...
I am just a child.

I love ypor poem and to be fifteen you are very wise just like me. I think you and I would get along great. You are very talented. I hope you will never give up. We need more poets and writers in the world. You have just added 1. Good Luck in all that you do. Stay true to writing and it will stay true to you.
