"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." - Winnie the Pooh

It was his final breath,
I couldn't make out what he'd said.
Was it "I love you?"
I wondered.

I couldn't make out what he'd said.
A tear falls from his cheek.
I wondered.
Was he crying for me?

A tear falls from his cheek.
A sadness fills my heart.
Was he crying for me?
He's going...going...

A sadness fills my heart.
Nothing more to say now.
He's going...going...
Gone.

It was his final breath.

This poem is written in the style of a pantoum. I wrote it about a loved one's last words.
