Leave the light on please

I sleep with the lights on
I’m not afraid of the dark
I’m afraid of my imagination
stretching shadow
hands grabbing my skin
dragging me under my bed
to be forgotten
not forgotten like a lost left sock
but forgotten like nobody really cared
so I sleep with the lights on.
