A Painted On Face

November 2, 2008

Beneath the smile,
Beneath the laugh,
Beneath the mask,
Is where it really is.
It lies beneath the mask I've built,
To pretend that I don't even care,
To pretend that you don't matter,
To pretend that I dont miss you.
Beneath the mask you will see,
What's really going on inside of me,
All of the sadness that I hold inside,
Sometimes I feel like I could die,
Losing you really was the worst,
And everyday I feel like my heart could burst,
The burning tears are held deep inside,
Even though I'd probably feel better if I cried,
I put on this mask everytime I see you,
To hide my feelings,to hide the truth,
To hide all my love that I have for you,
To hide all the pain from losing you,
Beneath the smile,
Beneath the laugh,
Beneath the mask,
Is where it really is.....
