Ambivalence

How else can antipathy
Lead to apathy?
Ambivalence

How else can passion pass
Like an ambulance
On its way to a corpse?
Ambivalence

How else can love burn like a torch
And sting softly
So subtly you surmise it was
Simply a passing sensation?
Ambivalence

Just one look to abate my fear, so
Straight into your eyes
Into you I gaze
At your visage
Then we'd coalesce
Like a bullet lodged into the brain
Yes, we'd coalesce
Like sex

I've hungered for days
Why can't i just starve?
Like a rotten raisin

How can a mask
Appear to be real?
On one love you thought you had pinned
Down from the start, sinned
So stark
Deceived you
From the start
Ambivalence

How else can beauty lead to an
Insuperable mountain
Incongruous to the rest?
Ambivalence
Ambivalence, My Dear
