Life in the sky

sitting softly in the sky
listening to the birds fly by
smiling up at the sun
the worlds day has already begun.
mellow and in somber mood
thinking of ways to end the blues
looking up in hope of light
a cloud floats by heavy but bright
following in slow soft steps
watching that cloud spread to specks
wishing for a miracle
to save from a life so cynical.
when from the sky falls a sight
new to this melancholy plight
which pulls up into the sky
where you listen to the birds fly by...
