Sanctuary

October 13, 2008

The cerulean body opened
its arms out to me.
It greeted me while
a breeze of welcome flew in,
accompanied by the salty scent of the sea.

Venturing out from my trap,
I abandoned the burden,
and left shallow,
but distinct footsteps.

I managed to whisper:
a wobbly "hello".
Always have been acquainted with
the portrait of
intensified
blue.

Trying to sustain balance,
it finally occurred to me;
my attempts were in vain.
My own mass would now
Assure my own safety.

My body locked me
In the spot, and left me
to contemplate,
and stare,
out into my sanctuary...

The author's comments:
It's me again. I'll probably be doing something thematic with my poems, writing a poem based on some colors.

This theme is obvious, so yeah...

Enjoy! [if not, include constructive criticism]
