Be My Escape

By
I’m peering out a window,
Watching the outside world carry on with its life.
I feel trapped.
It seems there’s no way out.
I’ve been sitting here,
Waiting and waiting,
For someone to let me out.
My hopes were fading away,
And I thought in this box I would stay.
I searched for love,
Just to find a way out.
I pretended that I found him,
But the more I faked love,
The more I got lost.
Now I’m back to where I started.
He has left me.
I fell hard and now I’m left alone with the dust.
I sit in the corner thinking,
“What did I do to end up like this?”
I’m just an ordinary girl with just one wish.
I just want a true love to pick me up and let me out.
I need to get out of here.
I’m stuck inside this rut that I fell into by mistake.
So I’m begging you to be my escape.
